Mexico City ‘green lung’ wins Large Urban Park Gold Award

In a city this polluted, the sprawling Chapultepec Park is a lifeline to nature and clean air.

The woodlands of Mexico City‘s Chapultepec Park have received the International Large Urban Parks Gold Award.

The World Urban Parks Association named this park the “Best Urban Forest in the World”. The award considers factors such as historic, cultural, and environmental significance. For a city notorious for air pollution, Chapultepec Park is perhaps the capital’s most valuable space.
