A dozen Gators earned NACGC Scholastic All-America honors in 2019. As a team, the Gators posted a 3.6041 grade point average for the 2018-19 academic year.

A Dozen Gators Earn NACGC Scholastic All-America Honors

The 2019 SEC champion Gators placed 12 on NACGC Scholastic All-America team.
GAINESVILLE, Fla. - Twelve from Florida's 2019 Southeastern Conference title team earned National Association of Collegiate Gymnastics Coaches (NACGC) Scholastic All-America honors. The NACGC recognizes the academic accomplishments of collegiate gymnasts each season.
 
As a team, Florida recorded a program record team cumulative GPA of 3.61 in fall 2018 and 3.57 in spring 2019 for a 3.6041 GPA for the academic year.
 
The only Gator Scholastic All-American who won't be back for the 2020 season is senior Amanda Cheney, who graduated magna cum laude with her bachelor's degree in Telecommunication—News in May. Freshman Leah Clapper is one of 125 on the 2019 NACGC Scholastic All-America team with a 4.0 grade point average.
 
To qualify for the NACGC Scholastic All-America team, a gymnast must have a GPA of 3.50 for either the preceding academic year or have a cumulative GPA of 3.50 or above at the nominating institution.
