Katie Holmes and Jamie Foxx quietly ended their relatively-secret six year romance months ago—and they did it shortly after they attended the Met Gala and posted together. E! confirmed the couple split in May.

Page Six reports that a source close to Holmes told the outlet that the two broke up in late May, specifically. And an eyewitness at a New York City restaurant where Holmes was dining said that Holmes told a friend she was with that she and Foxx weren't seeing each other anymore. “What Jamie does is his business—we haven’t been together for months," she allegedly said.

Holmes and Foxx were first linked in 2013, and although they have been photographed together on and off, they have never talked about their relationship. A source told Us Weekly in 2017 that their relationship at the time had been "very serious."

People was told in April 2019—a month before their breakup—that things remained great between them. “When they can spend time together, they do," an insider told the outlet. "When they’re busy and they can’t, they don’t. They are two adults who enjoy each other’s company and have for a long time.”

Holmes and Foxx had been progressively more public with their romance. At a Grammys pre-gala dinner in January 2018, they were photographed showing some PDA.

Foxx has also been there for family occasions: The couple was photographed celebrating Holmes's 40th birthday together in December with her mother. A source told Us Weekly at the time that “Katie and Jamie looked happy. They both came in the same car together, with her mom."
