Pinterest is an incredible resource for anyone in need of some visual inspiration, but there's no denying it can be especially beneficial for brides who want a creative outlet to help them plan for the big day. Turns out, even Meghan Markle herself relied on the image-sharing site for inspo ahead of her wedding to Prince Harry — a fun fact her longtime makeup artist Daniel Martin disclosed on a recent episode of the beauty podcast, @Gloss_Angeles.
On the podcast, which is hosted by former Popsugar beauty editor Kirbie Johnson and Sara Tan, Martin said he and Markle "exchanged a few Pinterest pictures over text" and offered that he thinks it's an excellent tool to use as a reference when it comes to wedding makeup. Martin didn't further elaborate on what type of makeup photos the Duchess of Sussex shared with him; however, based on her wedding day beauty look, they were likely photos of minimal, bronzy looks that let the skin shine through. The day she tied the knot, Markle's freckles were on full display and her skin looked luminous and warm, while her eyes got a subtle smoky treatment. She looked like herself, just a bit more elevated.
Believe it or not, there was no practice round for Markle's wedding makeup. Martin revealed that they didn't get to do a trial prior to the wedding because they simply couldn't make the time with their super-busy schedules. This is why Pinterest came in handy for the duo, because, at the very least, he had an idea of what she wanted and could go from there.
Clearly, it all worked out in the end — Markle's makeup turned out fabulous, all thanks to Martin (and Pinterest).
