Jeff Andrews Launches Wall Covering Collection for Astek

Designer Jeff Andrews's second collection of wall coverings for Los Angeles–based company Astek is now available through the brand. Andrews used pottery pieces from his own collection to inform the eight patterns and multiple colorways that make up the series. "I love the textures, colors, and patterns found in pottery and ceramics," he tells AD PRO. "I love how we managed to capture the depth, pattern, and finish of each unique, handmade piece for this collection."

Soho House’s New Location to Open in DTLA

New to Los Angeles is the latest addition from Soho House, set to open in early September. Set in a former warehouse space, the new, seven-story club is currently targeting creatives in the neighborhood to join as members. The club offers a range of work spaces, a bar, 48 guest rooms, a rooftop pool, and custom-created designs and furniture by company design director Candace Campos. While the design of the interior is being managed by the company's in-house team, the club is curating art from local galleries and artists.

Modern by Moonlight DTLA Walking Tours Host Final Walks of the Season

The Los Angeles Conservancy will host a "Modern by Moonlight" walking tour of modernist design landmarks over the next three Friday summer evenings. Tickets for the two-hour guided tours cost $15 for non-members and $10 for Conservancy members. Meeting locations will be included with registration. The tour will focus on modern landmarks around Bunker Hill, beginning at 7 p.m., and wraps up at the rotating Bona Vista Lounge at architect John Portman’s landmark Bonaventure Hotel.

L.A. Controller Announces Plan for Los Angeles Municipal Development Corporation

Los Angeles controller Ron Galperin has announced a proposal to encourage development on the 7,500 properties that the City of Los Angeles owns. If approved by the City Council, the Los Angeles Municipal Development Corporation will function as a public nonprofit entity, with the mission of developing and managing the city's currently underutilized land assets. The project is expected, if it passes, to usher in a new wave of developments and building opportunities for designers.

Marmol Radziner Jewelry Hosts Trunk Sale at A'maree's

Newport Beach boutique A'maree's will host Marmol Radziner Jewelry for a trunk sale on Tuesday, August 20, from 1 p.m. to 6 p.m., along with brands Dosa and Kilometre.Paris. Designer Robin Cottle’s unique pieces are fashioned by hand at the AD100 firm's fabrication facility in El Segundo, using architectural metals and semiprecious stones.
