If I sit here and think about the lip colors I typically gravitate toward, pinks and corals are probably the last on the list. Anything outside of the nude and red categories are not my cup of tea. However, I recently learned there's one exception to that rule: Fenty Beauty's Mattemoiselle Plush Matte Lipstick in Dragon Mami, aka the most perfect coral shade ever.

Now, it's no secret that Rihanna is good at everything she does. When she launched the Mattemoiselle Plush Matte Lipstick collection for Fenty Beauty, expectations were pretty high as the original collection had already generated a ton of buzz. It's safe to say these didn't disappoint — everything was great, including the packaging and the formula.

The ultra-slim stick is lightweight and has an insanely chic design, packaged in a slim, silver bullet. The formula is matte but not drying and it comes in 24 shades including Clapback, a beautiful true navy that won an Allure Best of Beauty Award in 2018. This year, when our editors tested coral lipsticks for BOB we were stunned by Dragon Mami, a pinkish coral in the very same collection.

In my opinion, no other matte lipstick compared. Dragon Mami is a highly pigmented medium coral with vibrant pink hues and red undertones. I call it a one-stroke lipstick, meaning you don't have to spend much time to get the coverage you need; one stroke and you're good to go. When it comes to the texture, it's lightweight, smooth, and creamy. While it's definitely a matte lipstick, it isn't drying like others.

It feels hydrating and almost like a lip balm with a wild amount of pigment. And did I mention it lasts through meals? This is always my ultimate lipstick test — I had two slices of pizza with a Diet Coke after applying and it didn't even budge.

Oh, it also works on all skin tones. And for a brand that basically puts inclusivity above all else (except quality), we expect nothing less. Which is why — drumroll, please — I am beyond excited to announce it's a winner for the best coral lipstick for Allure’s 2019 Best of Beauty Awards. I mean, you shouldn't be surprised. When doesn't Rihanna win?
