Gigi Hadid and Tyler Cameron have done serious-looking things (he attended her grandmother's funeral, most recently), but their romance really is just burgeoning. And if you ask Tyler C. about it on camera, he's not ready to call it dating. Entertainment Tonight's Lauren Zima did, and she got a series of coy responses back from him.

"We're just friends, we're just friends," Cameron said when Zima asked where they're at.

Zima wasn't buying it. "Are you sure?" she asked him.

"I mean, that's just where we're at," he said. "Our relationship doesn't need to be public. She's good people, she's an amazing person, and we're just keeping it friendly."

"Are you in love with a supermodel, Tyler Cameron?" Zima asked.

He laughed, then said that he's trying to keep his romantic relationships private now that he's off The Bachelorette. "I'm at the point where I don't really want to talk about my relationships," he said. "I've dated publicly, so I'm trying to date privately, and I'm not in love with anybody right now."

"You went to Gigi's grandmother's funeral with her, which was beautiful, and you seem like you really care about her," Zima stated.

"She's an amazing person," Cameron said. "We have a great time together. We've hung out a few times, that's all."

Zima tried to press him on Hadid in other ways (whether she gives him modeling advice, if there's anything else he'd like to say about her), but Cameron didn't budge. All he said was that she was "great."

Cameron's decision to try to avoid Hadid questions isn't too surprising. People reported earlier this month that the two were struggling with how public their relationship had become. “The media attention has been hard on Tyler and Gigi,” People's source explained. “They’re trying to navigate it right now because they know how the press can pick apart every date they have and turn it into something bigger.”

In reality, the two “still just getting to know each other and have fun,” the source said. “They don’t want that pressure to push them further than where they are.”
