If you have an OLED television in your home, then burn-in is probably a concern. Burn-in happens when the same image is shown on your television’s display for a long period of time. It can be something like the menu from your Apple TV, or the default screen when your TV powers on.

This week Samsung released a video to help you know what burn-in looks like and how to find it on your display.

Worth noting, Samsung doesn’t sell OLED television, which might be behind its motivation for the tool.

To use it, you just need to stream the minute-long YouTube video, below, onto your television.

Within the video, it will show you what to be on the lookout for, and a 10-second red screen in the video should make the nasty bits on your own television a bit more visible.

If you do have burn-in, the only way to correct the issue is to get a new TV. The good news is, chances are good that if you have bad burn-in you’ve probably already seen it.

That said, this can be a great way to see where burn-in has started so you can change your habits before it gets bad enough to make things problematic.
