Brush your skin for a healthy glow!
Nope, a brisk brush is not only for our furry pets. Dry brushing your skin removes all the dead skin cells off the body and enhances skin health by clearing clogged pores. This, in turn, helps your body detox excess toxins through the skin as well.
So, what is dry-brushing?

It's just that. Running a brush briskly all over your body while it's dry. Best is early in the morning. It’s fairly simple:
·Get naked.
Grab a body brush (you get these in all the beauty-accessory shops these days).
·Start with your feet and start rubbing the brush from your feet upwards in gentle, circular movements. Start with one side, then to the other.
·Once the legs till the buttocks are done, go for the arms. From your fingertips, move towards your torso - in the direction of your lymphatic system.
·Then the back, tummy and underarms – all in upward circular movements.
·Avoid open wounds and scratches, ensure you keep the brush movement gentle. With the pressure just so it tickles the skin.

·Make sure you get your entire body from feet to neck and don’t forget your back - a brush with a handle such as this Bath Brush helps reach those sweet-spots
Leave the face alone
Do not use the same brush on the face. You need really a soft-bristled brush for the face. If you don’t have that, you can just use a scrub.
Bathe

Once you’ve brushed all over, it’s shower time. Keep the pressure medium. Start with lukewarm water, and move on to as hot as you can stand it. This will wash away all the dead skin cells. You can leave the gel and soap be this once.
Once out of the shower, dab on some high-protein moisturizer all over, and relax with a cup of chamomile tea.
Benefits of dry brushing

·Dead skin cells are gone, and this improves the overall look of the skin by opening clogged pores and helping the skin breathe
·Aids skin detox by allowing for cell rejuvenation, and thereby excreting toxins from the body via the skin. It’s also great for tightening the skin
·It stimulates the network of skin vessels and nodes that transport metabolic waste – keeps the lymphatic system spic and span
·Helps blood circulation by pepping up the entire body’s functioning
·Gives you baby-soft, glowing skin, naturally
·Prevents and reduces the formation of cellulite
·It energises your entire being – it’s a great way to love your body
So, go for dry brushing to get a health and energy boost twice every week, and see your skin glow, immunity build up and your general well-being take a leap for the better.
