This Conscious Jewelry Brand Is Redefining Wearable Wellness

This article is more than 4 years old.

The $4.2 trillion wellness industry isn't exactly new. It's a practice that has been ingrained into our culture and world at-large for ages, but recently the conscious economy has experienced a democratized, ritualistic renaissance with mindfulness, astrology, plant medicine and more moving mainstream — with the more “woo” side wellness bolstering in demand.

Katie Beckley of wearable wellness brand, Awaken the Peace, is a humble thought-leader within the space, bridging the gap between “high-vibe consciousness” and modern-day consumerism. She has flown under the radar for years with a star-studded following from top chef, Eric Ripert to renowned spiritual teacher, Deepak Chopra to influencer, @alliemichelle.

Through Awaken the Peace she has managed to condense the convoluted layers of spirituality in the form of beautiful bracelets and jewelry.

What Is “Wearable Wellness?”

“For me, wearable wellness is soul nourishing, vibrational upliftment for our body, mind, and spirit which we access by simply wearing,” says Beckley.

Awaken the Peace bracelets act as an energetic shield, neutralizing negative energy and protecting the body from low-vibrational energies such as EMF, radiation, sugar and more. By wearing the bracelet you are enabling greater strength, emotional and mental clarity and a heightened sense of grounded-peace.

Have I tapped into your inner skeptic yet?

Think of it like this — similar to popular wearables today like the Apple Watch, Fitbit, or Ringly, Awaken the Peace enhances your quality of life and communicates how to optimize it — just without modern technology. The brand uses muscle testing and a perfectly-imperfect peeling charm design, to convey an optimized, conscious journey of wellbeing, transcendence and growth.

The Mindful Design

Beckley began her career at Tiffany & Co. so utmost quality and elegance is inevitably interwoven throughout the brand’s holistic ethos. Premium stones are ethically sourced from around the globe to create beautifully strung accessories adorned with a potently powerful proprietary charm produced out of condensed and refined rare minerals, gemstones and metals. “It’s all about integrity for me,” Beckley says.

A majestic OM symbol embellishes the front, and the back has an intentional “love” or “awaken” inscription placed strategically next to three gem stones — intentionally designed to leverage the power of three in numerology — read more about it here for spiritual enthusiasts and here for business wellpreneurs.

Each wearable is designed using a mindful balance of stone energetics and aesthetics.

Validity Checkpoint: Muscle Testing

I personally live and breathe the world of wellness and conscious design, but I still wanted to see the bracelets work their protection in-person.

To test what crystals worked best for my unique body, Beckley told me to close my eyes as she placed different stone combinations and bracelets around my fingers as my pointer fingers connected in a pyramid shape. She began to practice simple strength-testing techniques — otherwise known as kinesiology.

“For me, double blind tests validate everything… and every time there is a clear and consistent result,” says Beckley. “For example, our body consistently responds and weakens to certain low vibrations with and without the stones.”

My body undoubtedly weakened and failed the strength tests when I held my phone or a packet of sugar and strengthened when I wore one or two Awaken the Peace bracelets.

We must have tested hundreds of bracelets, but we finally found the bracelet that tested best with my body — providing utmost strength. Coincidentally, it was the one I intuitively gravitated towards when I first perused the jewelry collection.

Peal, Heal, Reveal

The peeling OM symbol is how the jewelry conveys you are “healing” and “revealing” your most authentic self.

“It was completely unintentional... I had so much judgement around it at first and thought there is no way we can go to market with this product.” Alas, through market research, Beckley slowly began to see the common thread between her friends and the time at which the charm would peel.

The emblem seemed to strip off during pivotal life transitions. “People would workout with it on for months or try to scrape it off and nothing would happen... but then they would have a massive fight with their spouse or quit their job and it would peel... sometimes even break,” says Beckley.

From my personal experience, the ‘peel, heal, reveal’ process created a deeper relationship with the brand and greater affinity towards the product. I consistently would check and became overwhelmed with excitement when the bracelet would indeed peel. For your reference, I’ve had my bracelet for about one year now and it has almost completely peeled, leaving only the dot at the top covered.

Each peel has represented a transitional time in my life — traveling to Bali for a solo Eat Pray Love journey, moving into my first studio in the city, the birth of my conscious consulting business and lastly, moving in with my long-term boyfriend.

To dive even deeper, each segment of the OM symbol signifies a different area of your life and transcendence. When the bracelet is fully peeled you have met what Beckley calls an ‘unction.’ “It means completion for the very last time... like when you peel that very last layer of an onion,” says Beckley.

With plans to grow and expand with new product lines and exciting extensions, I wouldn’t expect an unction for Awaken the Peace any time soon. Click here to shop and learn more about Awaken the Peace. Follow along at @awakenthepeace.
