The Big Bang Theory’s Kunal Nayyar recently made a big purchase: an estate in the Hancock Park neighborhood of Los Angeles. The actor and his wife, designer Neha Kapur, paid $7.5 million for the sprawling property, which includes a 7,070-square-foot Tudor-style main house, a 960-square-foot guesthouse, a 625-square-foot gym, and a 480-square-foot studio on about one acre of land.

Nayyar isn't the abode's first famous owner. Nicolas Cage bought the place for his ex-girlfriend Christina Fulton in May 2001 for $2.695 million. Following a series of financial troubles, the National Treasure star lost the home to Citibank in 2011. (It was later purchased by music attorney Aaron Rosenberg, who sold the home to Nayyar.)

Originally built in 1924, the two-story Tudor home has been renovated over the years, though it still retains a number of period details, like wainscoting and leaded glass windows. A winding driveway leads from the gated entry to a rear motor court before it swings back around toward the front entrance. Inside the house is an impressive two-story entryway with a grand staircase lined by walls of leaded glass. The ground floor boasts a formal living room, wood-paneled formal dining room, library, upgraded kitchen, breakfast room, family room, and a media and music room. A covered patio with a bar is accessible through a set of French doors just off the living room.

Upstairs, the master suite has two fireplaces, his-and-hers walk-in closets, and a luxurious bathroom with a steam shower and a sunken tub under a skylight. A small room connected to the master suite can be used as either an office or a nursery, and there are four other bedrooms and a total of seven bathrooms. Out back is a fenced swimming pool and spa, with plenty of mature trees surrounding the perimeter.

In addition to their new purchase, Nayyar and Kapur also own an expansive 5,000-square-foot Nichols Canyon abode built in a Spanish hacienda style, which Architectural Digest toured in 2017. The couple moved in just one month after they married in 2011, and have customized it to their tastes and needs over the years. “If we’re fortunate enough, until the day we die, we’re never going to sell this house,” the star of the now-defunct CBS sitcom told AD at the time. “It’s going to be in our family for generations.”
