This morning, Adobe announced an upgrade coming to its Lightroom cloud ecosystem, specifically for iPad devices. By the end of the year, Lightroom users will be able to directly import using any card reader, straight into Lightroom on their iOS devices that support it.
Upon import, those photos automatically become a part of your photo library, and are uploaded to the cloud. Here’s a sneak peek at what to expect.
He initially mentioned having to remember to delete them from your Ipad storage in the current method of import. But doesn’t cover it in the new method. I wonder if it will skip your ipad storage totally and just go to your creative cloud storage. It would be amazing if it did! And the fact that you can import RAW photos directly into CC mobile without the need for a computer is pretty sweet!
Yes, it’ll skip your device’s photo library entirely, and store only in the CC storage for Lightroom.
This really should have been ready to go with the launch of iPadOS/iOS 13. It just goes to show how disinterested Adobe has been in really committing to the success of Lightroom.
