Atelier AM's Principals Take AD PRO Inside Their Family-Friendly West Hollywood Home

In a new video tour, Alexandra and Michael Misczynski of Atelier AM put their thoughtful approach to decorating on view

With two young children, a dog, and a successful interiors practice to boot, Alexandra and Michael Misczynski of AD100 firm Atelier AM are busy. And given that their home address is above the always-bustling Sunset Strip, their day-to-day life might seem a little frenetic. So when the property next door to their Los Angeles home went on the market, the duo seized the opportunity to convert the ranch house on the site into their own little slice of paradise—with a Tuscany-inspired pergola, a garden, and of course, a pool. "Since we are partners in life and in work, it gets super important that we have these spaces," Michael says in AD PRO's new video tour of their abode, which was featured in Architectural Digest's November issue.

Though there is no shortage of pedigreed designs in the space—think vintage Jean Dunand chairs and furnishings by Claude Lalanne—it achieves an overall feeling of comfort in the couple's hands. "We actually have clients come over and they’re like, 'Oh, I get it,'" Alexandra says. "It’s still comfortable, we still have boys running around, and everything survives and everybody learns to live and enjoy it." In other words, nothing is too precious to be off-limits in their indoor-outdoor L.A. lifestyle. Join AD PRO for a look inside the family's zen-like retreat.
