It was nearly four years ago when Kim Kardashian West shared on her now-defunct app her secret for "perfect cleavage" while wearing tops and dresses that don’t jibe with bras: tape. Specifically, she would use gaffer’s tape, which is commonly found on photoshoot sets — exactly where she learned the hack. There was just one problem: It’s not meant to be used on skin.

"I would use gaffer's tape and shipping tape, and it would burn me and rip me and everything — you name it. It was the worst," Kardashian West says in a new video posted to various social media platforms. So instead of just slapping her name on some gaffer's tape and selling it to Skims customers, Kardashian West has been working on an innovative new approach to her years-old hack. Simply called Body Tape, it launches today, and she demonstrated just how easy and painless it is to wear and remove it.

"So you just cut it and then you take the back label off," Kardashian West says in the video, peeling the paper backing from the tape, which the brand says is engineered with comfortable, flexible stretch cotton — but not too flexible. "The key to the tape is you do not want it to be too stretchy," she explains, because then there’s not enough hold. She adheres the tape to the torso of a nearby model, who happens to be wearing the new Skims Pasties that launch today as well.

Kardashian West applies the tape from the model's waist to her shoulder in a slightly diagonal angle so it won’t show under a wider neckline, lifting the model’s breasts a bit so they look and feel more supported. She then puts a blazer on the model to show one of her favorite no-bra looks before the model peels off the tape without any of the burning or ripping Kardashian West says plagued her in the past.

"That wasn't painful at all," the model confirms.

The suspender-like formation demonstrated in the video isn’t the only use for the new Body Tape. Because it can be cut into various lengths and widths, you can apply it in any way you see fit, whether that’s all the way around the bust like a supportive strapless bra, in a one-shoulder shape, or just over the nipples — though the new Pasties have literally got that covered. The options are truly endless.
