GAINESVILLE, Fla. -- The Gators beat Miami and then had a bye. They beat South Carolina and then had a bye. And after beating Missouri last weekend on the road, they have a bye. Florida is 3-0 prior to bye weeks, 1-1 after, defeating UT Martin and losing to Georgia.
The No. 10-ranked Gators (9-2) seek to finish on a high note when they host Florida State (6-5) in the regular-season finale in 11 days. For Florida, it's an opportunity to beat the Seminoles in back-to-back seasons for the first time since winning six in a row in the series from 2004-09. The Gators can also clinch their second consecutive 10-win season under head coach
Dan Mullen, a feat the program hasn't accomplished since back-to-back 13-win seasons in 2008-09.
"That's going to be a fun game, that's what is all about going to play those guys,'' Mullen said Saturday. "And then hopefully get to another good bowl game."
