Abrams' task of trying to craft a satisfying closing chapter for the long-spanning Star Wars series, as he admitted that the fanbase is likely to be split on some of the decisions that have been executed. However, he backed his emotionally-charged review of the film by, once again, sharing praise for the highly-anticipated conclusion."It runs the risk of the Game of Thrones syndrome, where there's no way you can please all the people all the time because people are so emotionally invested in this story," Grant continued. "The movie that they're going to see may not be the movie they have in their heads to see. But for a four-decade-long fan as I am, I thought it pulled off that feat incredibly."
Over the past few months, there has been an avalanche of speculation about the potential character plot twists that could emerge from The Rise of Skywalker; some have theorized that Rey might turn to the Dark Side while others believe Kylo Ren could be set on the road towards 'Bendemption'. Elsewhere, we have been assured that 'Reylo' theories will be addressed in the final instalment, as actress Daisy Ridley confirmed that Abrams deals with Rey and Ren's complex relationship.Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker is projected to earn close to $200 million in its debut as it brings the entire Skywalker Saga that began back in 1977 with Star Wars: Episode IV - A New Hope to an end.
