• It turns out that Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s son, Archie Harrison, has met Prince William and Kate Middleton’s kids only a few times.
  • But FWIW, Princess Charlotte, Prince George, and Prince Louis reportedly “adore” baby Archie.

Please join me in thinking back to a simpler time, aka January 1, just days before Meghan Markle and Prince Harry’s major announcement that they’d be stepping back as senior members of the royal family.

Anyway, back in the good old days (read: three weeks ago), a source dropped some cute intel about the royal fam: Apparently, Kate Middleton was eager to have her kids spend more time with Archie. The source shared that Kate was “hoping that in the new year, the cousins will spend more time together” and also noted that Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis all “adore” Archie.

Obviously, now that baby Archie is peacing out to Canada with his family, that probably won’t happen. But here’s the thing: It looks like Archie and Will and Kate’s kids barely knew each other in the first place. Royal expert Katie Nicholl tells ET, “The Cambridge children have actually only met Archie a handful of times. I suppose that’s down to the Sussexes being in Windsor, the Cambridges being in London.”

And while there’s some tension between Will and Kate and Harry and Meghan at the moment (see: Will feeling “incredibly hurt” and “blindsided” by Harry’s decision to step down), their kids actually might be the ones to bring them back together again. Nicholl adds, “At some point down the future, there will be a closeness between the four of them, if not for themselves, for the royal cousins.” Here’s hoping she’s right about that!
