K Sivan and Shekhar Mande to receive HK Firodia awards

The 24th edition of H K Firodia awards will be conferred on Chairman of Indian Space Research Organisation K Sivan and Shekhar Mande, Director General of Council of Scientific & Industrial Research (CSIR) for their contribution in the field of science and technology.

PUNE: The 24th edition of H K Firodia awards will be conferred on Chairman of Indian Space Research Organisation K Sivan and Shekhar Mande, Director General of Council of Scientific & Industrial Research (CSIR) for their contribution in the field of science and technology.
The scientists will be felicitated in a ceremony held in Balgandharv auditorium on February 7 at 6 pm, informed the selection committee under eminent scientist R A Mashelkar and Arun Firodia, chairman of Kinetic group.

While K Sivan will receive the HK Firodia Vijnan Ratna award, H K Firodia Vijnan Bhushan will be received by Shekhar Mande.

K C Mohite, former dean of science and technology at Savitribai Phule Pune University said that youngsters interested in science and technology can also come for the interactive session that will be held before the award ceremony from 4 pm to 5:30 pm at the same venue. “The fourth edition of science quiz will be held and students can register online at http://hkfirodiaawards.org/ The winners will get a chance to interact with the dignitaries. Students who have showcased innovative projects at the Avishkar competition held in the university on Tuesday will also get a chance to interact with the scientists.”
