A report came out last night via ESPN’s Adam Schefter that indicated a fairly large change to the NFL postseason in the 2020 season.
The biggest shocker was the announcement of a seventh team being added to each conference’s playoff bracket. Schefter also mentioned the possibility of reducing the first-round byes from two teams to one, increasing the regular season to 17 games, and reducing the number of preseason games to three.
This change could bode well for the Detroit Lions, as well as other teams in a particularly crowded NFC North. With Green Bay and Minnesota coming off of playoff runs in 2019, and Chicago making it in 2018, it’s going to be challenging for the Lions regardless of how many playoff spots there are.
Today’s question is simple:
Do you want the NFL to expand the playoffs?
My answer: Yes.
I know wildcard football isn’t always that exciting, but it at least has a better shot than a fourth preseason game. And hey, if the Lions get a better shot at making the playoffs because of it, why not?
What do you think?
