More than 24k students have taken educational trips in metro trains

CHENNAI: As many as 24,400 students have travelled in metro trains in the last eight months as part of the educational trips conducted by CMRL.
It includes 4,205 students who took a ride in the metro trains since November 2019.
CMRL has been conducting educational trips for students from government, corporation schools, government aided schools from Chennai and its neighbouring districts like Tiruvallur, Chengelpattu and Kanchipuram.
The students are taken for free rides from Central Metro to St Thomas Mount and Airport via Koyambedu and from Washermenpet to Airport via AG-DMS.
The students are explained about the various features in the trains and in stations made for both commuters as well as for daily train operations.
In a release, CMRL said as many as 31,178 students from nearly 60 schools took a ride in the metro trains in the year 2018-19.
