Antiques-filled interiors that make us smile

Fancy a bit of escapism? We've picked a few of our favourite design-led Instagram accounts, which never fail to fill us with joy

All hail the queen of colourful design and patterns a-go-go! We've been hooked since the erstwhile judge of The Great Interior Design Challenge dialled up her stair runner in an eye-popping shade of pink against dazzling walls of cobalt blue. And don't get us started on the darling Borastapeter wallpaper in her country kitchen…

Bristol-based Helen Ward can wield a pair of scissors like Jamie Oliver can julienne vegetables. The designer's home is full of quirky handmade details, from her pom-pom wall hangings to her intricately crafted butterfly artworks. Every room oozes personality and charm, including the bathroom, with its gorgeously botanical Lucy Tiffney wallpaper.

Aside from living in a beamed beauty of a home, Joanne Burgess is a master at creating a cosy, welcoming atmosphere with her choice of wonderfully worn, salvaged materials and cheery folk art prints. We especially love her delightful bedroom in the eaves, but you may not get beyond the magnificent kitchen...

Patrick Williams of Berdoulat Interior Design has transformed his Georgian townhouse in Bath into a refined family home full of floor-to-ceiling books, sofas that envelop you and soothingly tasteful tones. On Insta you'll see glimpses of his home alongside projects for others. Fun touches here and there include this tap in the children's bathroom – we can't lie, we smile every time we look at it...

Fans of the York-based artists Mark Hearld and Emily Sutton take note... If you long to fill your home with their distinctive visual worlds now you can, as shown by Kate Sessions and her gorgeously arranged home. From cushions to throws to wall hangings to ceramics, Kate's homeware versions of Mark and Emily's designs are in abundance in her own space. These are surely heirlooms of the future...

We loved artist and designer LEH's London apartment with its bold flashes of colour and pattern clashes galore, and we're head over heels for his new place in the Cotswolds. With more space to play with we're excited to see how Luke and his partner Duncan work their magic. Seriously, who wouldn't want to curl up here with a coffee table tome and a healthy supply of snacks as you watch the sun slowly fade through the sash windows?

If you haven't heard of this artist you're in for a treat. Kitty lives and breathes her work and her Folkestone shop and home look almost one and the same... Think bright botanicals with a tropical vibe, some abstract some more naturalistic. We'd love to be sitting at her polished dining table right now on one of those heavenly stools...

Dee's style is relaxed and breezy, full of pastel shades to bounce light around, an abundance of luscious houseplants in woven baskets and pretty blooms in glass vases. She's also a fan of a fairy light and curates a good wall art display. Every room is like a breath of fresh air, but it's the hallway that gets us every time.

Butter is an award-winning garden designer so her feed is full of awe-inspiring outdoor shots, but she also has an outstandingly beautiful home which is as close to perfection as you can get. Expect plenty of carefully thought out symmetry, intriguing artworks, collections of charming ceramics, elegant upholstery, and, of course, fresh flowers everywhere!
