We know you miss your daily commute, so take a virtual drive with us! We’re driving along the Northern California coast starting from the Golden Gate Bridge, past San Francisco’s Ocean Beach and along Highway 1 toward Half Moon Bay.

Initially designed by engineer Joseph Strauss in 1917, the Golden Gate Bridge connects Marin County to the city of San Francisco. When the bridge opened in 1937, it was the tallest and longest suspension bridge in the world. The bridge is 746 feet tall and spans 4,200 feet.

California State Route 1 runs along most of the Pacific coastline of the state. At for 655.8 miles, it is the longest state route in California. Portions of the route had several names and numbers over the years. State highway renumbering in 1964 officially designated the highway SR 1.

The scenic San Mateo County community of Half Moon Bay is located on the Pacific Coast between forested hills and some of the most beautiful coastlines that California has to offer. It is slightly less than 30 miles south of San Francisco.

Half Moon Bay has many historic buildings in downtown. The historic business district still shows signs of what the city center was like in earlier days. Farms in Half Moon Bay date back to the 1800s.
