SAN FRANCISCO — A day after the city exceeded 500 confirmed coronavirus cases, public health officials on Sunday announced 39 new positive tests for the virus.

San Francisco public health officials did not report any new deaths, though yesterday one new death brought the overall total in the city to eight.

The number of people who have tested positive for coronavirus in the city was 568 as of Sunday morning.

As of Friday, a state dashboard reports there are now 75 confirmed COVID-19 patients in San Francisco hospitals, 32 of whom are in intensive care units.
