VIDEO: The Pistons are hiring a GM and we have some questions

The new hire will reportedly serve under Ed Stefanski and Arn Tellem

Finally, some real Detroit Pistons news! It’s been a dry news cycle for the Pistons since the NBA season was postponed, but Detroit fans now have something to chew on for the next few weeks.

As reported yesterday by Adrian Wojnarowski, the Pistons are starting a search for a general manager. The search will be led by senior advisor Ed Stefanski and Palace Sports VP Arn Tellem.

The Pistons front office has been a bit wonky since the firing of Stan Van Gundy in 2018. For the past two seasons, Detroit has not had an official general manager. We’ve been led to believe Stefanski has been the de facto GM but with a more elevated title.

There’s a lot to think about with this news and it may get confusing for some fans.

Who are some targets the Pistons should look at?

Will the new hire be answering to Stefanski or is Stefanski slowly trying to weed hisself out?

If the Pistons wanted to get a general manager this offseason, why didn’t they let the new hire make the franchise-altering decisions made during the season by Stefanski?

Should former Pistons Chauncey Billups and Tayshaun Prince be candidates?

All these questions are talked about in the video below.
