A 3.7-magnitude earthquake Thursday centered near Pinnacles National Park was felt as far away as Santa Cruz.

The quake occurred at 12:19 p.m. The epicenter was in the Bear Canyon area, west of Highway 25 between Hollister and Pinnacles, the U.S. Geological Survey said.

Within half an hour, 230 people had reported their observations to the USGS Did You Feel It website. Most were in the Salinas and Monterey areas. There were two dozen reports from the Santa Cruz area, 60 miles away.
