Mutations and Evolutions List
In Maneater, just being your average shark won't be enough to really strike fear into the hearts of the people of Port Clovis. Instead, you'll be able to evolve into a perfect killing machine with the help of collectible and upgradable Evolution Mutations that will vastly improve your damage, speed, and other abilities.
Evolutions come in many types and forms, and can be collected in various ways, including:
- Completing story events, like defeating bosses
- Defeating Apex Predators lured out by completing Population Control missions in each region.
- Gaining new Infamy Ranks by attacking humans until Bounty Hunters appear, and destroying their boats until a named Bounty Hunter appears - and summarily devouring them.
- Locating every Landmark in each region you explore.
Most Evolutions fall into one of three sets, as well as a handful of organ evolutions that can be swapped out as needed when you are resting in your Grotto.

The Bone Set is gained by defeating Apex Predators in the different regions of Port Clovis. It is a set designed for maximum effectiveness against hunters and their boats, and boasts incredible damage resistance, as well as superior ramming speed and damage against boats, allowing you to make quick work of incoming hunters.

When activated, this evolution gives you the Bone Crusher ability. It is recharged by biting or consuming creatures. The Bone Crusher ability turns you into a bone battering ram, allowing you to shatter boats like glass.

Bio-Electric Set
The Bio-Electric Set is gained by defeating the named Bounty Hunters you must contend with as you increase your infamy - eating humans and triggering a search by nearby hunters. The more your infamy increases, the more firepower the hunters will bring to the fight. The Bio-Electric Set is designed to make short work of sea creatures and predators by electrifying nearby opponents to stun them, leaving them vulnerable to attack.

This evolution released an electrical charge each time you bite, giving you lightning teeth.
Bites release an electrical shock that that puts stun counters on nearby targets. When a target has 10 counters, it will be stunned for a short period. A single stun counter is removed every 3 seconds

This evolution turns you into lightning for a fraction of a second when you evade.
Evading will turn you into lightning and inflict damage, as well as putting stun counters on nearby targets. When a target has 10 counters, they will become stunned for a short period. A single stun counter is removed every 3 seconds.

When activated, this evolution gives you the Lightning Burst ability. It is recharged by damaging or consuming enemies.
The Lightning Burst cloaks you in a Lightning Aura, electrocuting anything that comes near. When lunging, you turn into lightning and inflict damage and stun counters on nearby targets. When a target has 10 Stun counters they will be stunned for a short period of time. A stun counter is removed every 3 seconds.

This evolution gives you the Shadow Form ability. It recharges when you bite or consume a creature. Shadow Form slows the world around you while releasing an aura of poison each time you lunge. Poison clouds put poison counters on all nearby targets, making them suffer -1% speed, damage resistance, and damage output, plus .2 damage per second for each counter - up to 30 total. Organs
Organ Evolutions fill a wide variety of roles, can can be equipped to bolster a specific attribute that you are already raising with your other body mutations, or can be used to fill gaps, or help in exploration and gathering nutrients.
