• Chad Johnson sued Sunset Studios for sexual harassment in July 2018.
  • Chad appeared on JoJo Fletcher’s season of The Bachelorette.

Chad Johnson proved multiple causes of action against Sunset Studios Entertainment LLC and one of its executives, Cristina Cimino. A judge granted his affirmative motion for summary adjudication on his causes of action for sexual harassment, failure to prevent harassment, intentional infliction of emotional distress, and fraud by intentional misrepresentation.

In early 2018, Chad announced that he was leaving reality TV in favor of starring in movies, TV shows, and uh, well, porn. Shortly after, he alleges Cristina contacted him through Instagram to help him get roles. The suit states that was only a rouse to invite him to numerous in-person meetings, call him excessively, and send him thousands of text messages.

The suit adds that the interactions became “progressively more sexual and provocative” in nature. Chad attempted to turn down Cristina’s alleged advances without offending her in order to maintain his chances of getting cast in a movie. The suit explains that he tried to “keep things professional” and was given written offers to be in two movies. But after Chad denied wanting a sexual or romantic relationship with Cristina, he claims the offers were rescinded.

Bachelor Nation fans will remember Chad from JoJo Fletcher’s season of The Bachelorette and later from his appearance on Bachelor in Paradise. In both, he was portrayed as the villain and has since made several derogatory remarks about other cast members. Despite what people may think of him due to his previous actions, no one deserves to be sexually harassed. In an ideal world, there should be a mutual respect between an employee and their employer. If a line is crossed, then that person deserves to be held accountable—no matter what.
