SAN JOSE – Separate shootings just nine hours apart left two men injured in San Jose, authorities said Friday evening.

The first shooting was reported on the 1200 block of Plum Street, near West Humboldt Street, about 11:50 p.m. Thursday. The second was reported on the 1500 block of North 1st St., near Gish Road, about 8:45 a.m. Friday, said San Jose police Sgt. Enrique Garcia.

In both incidents, officers arrived to find a man suffering from at least one gunshot wound. The victims were taken to a hospital with injuries that were not considered life-threatening.

Garcia said no suspects have been arrested or identified in connection with the first shooting, but officers arrested a suspect in the second shooting about 4:45 p.m. Friday.

The suspect, who was not identified, is being treated at a hospital for an injury he suffered during the arrest, said Garcia, adding that the suspect will be booked into Santa Clara County Jail.

Garcia said the shootings were not connected.

Police are asking anyone with information about the first shooting to call 911, or leave a tip with Silicon Valley Crime Stoppers at 408-947-7867 or at svcrimestoppers.org.
