The vacant strip mall that for years housed Zorba the Greek restaurant and banquet hall was razed in San Jose on Friday.

The huge sign extolling the “Greek, Italian, Armenian & Continental cuisine” is all that’s left of the Dick’s Center site on South Bascom Avenue. A wrecking crew demolished the last of the buildings after two recent fires caused heavy damage.

The 6.4-acre property at Southwest Expressway will become a mixed-use center called the South Bascom Gateway Station.
