Altitude TV announced yesterday that they will be locally broadcasting the Exhibition and Qualifying Round games for the Colorado Avalanche. The games will be available on DIRECTV, Charter Communications and other cable providers, but not on Comcast and DISH Network as the network and service providers are still negotiating contracts.

NBCSN will be broadcasting the first Round Robin game against the St. Louis Blues nationally in the United States. The time and broadcast schedule has yet to be determined for the Avalanche’s final Round Robin game against the Vegas Golden Knights. The game will be on Saturday so there’s a chance it will also be broadcast on NBCSN, but nothing has been confirmed as of yet.

The NHL has been attempting to fulfill contracts with local broadcasters by providing the remaining number of games promised to them before the regular season was cut short. My guess is that all games will be nationally broadcast by the second or third round of the playoffs. Most games are being blacked out by region until then.

Gabriel Landeskog was nominated by the Avs for this year’s King Clancy Memorial Trophy for a “player who best exemplifies leadership qualities on and off the ice and has made a noteworthy humanitarian contribution in his community.”

It was reported yesterday by Ryan S. Clark that Vladislav Kamenev missed out on the Avs playoff roster due to an appendectomy about two months ago. It hampered his training and he was ultimately left off the team’s roster.

Head Coach Jared Bednar has hinted that he might dress a young prospect in the Exhibition game after practice yesterday. Bowen Byram will not have a game added to his nine-game entry-level contract limit (before the first year is burned) if he plays in the Exhibition game.

Ryan has more on the cuts, goalie plan, and Avs who could be big difference makers in his post at the Athletic yesterday.

Once again, that beard is glorious.
