The Detroit Lions placed defensive end Romeo Okwara on the Non-Football Injury list Sunday, according to their official website. Austin Bryant, the 2019 draft pick at the same position, was placed on the Physically Unable to Perform list as well.

The NFI list is used when a player contracts an injury — or any condition that renders them incapable of playing — from activities that are deemed non football related. The PUP list is used when players are injured in a football related activity before training camp.

Okwara has been a regular contributor for the Lions since arriving in 2018. The defensive end played has played 29 games for Detroit over the past two years, and notched 9 sacks in the process.

Bryant was drafted by the team in the fourth round of the 2019 draft. An injury cost him a majority of his rookie season, though he did play four games in the second half of the year. He was expected to finally earn a regular rotational role in the upcoming year.

There is no information on the nature of their injuries at the moment.
