The internet is a lifelineduring COVID isolation

The internet has had a big part in improving life during quarantine.

Watching shows on streaming platforms such as Netflix has been a great source of entertainment, and has made staying at home less boring. Also, social media such as Instagram or Snapchat have provided some sense of normalcy by letting you stay connected with friends.

Having such entertainment helps take your mind off the stressful aspects of quarantine. The internet has even helped with school. Many schools across the country are doing online school through apps such as Zoom or Google Meet. Without the internet, this would not have been possible.

Wilk a proven leaderfor Walnut Creek

Please join me in re-electing Kevin Wilk to Walnut Creek City Council.

Kevin has proven to be an outstanding City leader and a genuinely good guy. With deep roots in Walnut Creek, he has raised his family here and has been involved as a neighbor and a dad in his kid’s activities. He has been a fierce advocate for this community and served on several city committees and commissions prior to his involvement at the City Council level.

He is a strong advocate for the creation of a 24/7 mental health crisis response team, unarmed, but equipped with the appropriate training and resources to respond to emergency calls for mental health crises. He led the way for approving 100% clean energy for city-owned buildings.

As a councilman, Kevin is always ready to listen and respond to the concerns of his constituents. Kevin has the expertise and skills to serve us well.

Time to turn the pageon Trump presidency

This political rhetoric from the left and right is getting us nowhere. Slinging mud is a waste of energy and does not solve problems. It keeps two crooked entrenched parties in business.

Competence which leads to results is what matters for our children’s future. “The Art of the Deal” has worked for stimulating business and the stock market, but hasn’t proven effective on complicated problems requiring cooperation such as the COVID pandemic, reducing our federal debt, curbing manmade contributions to global warming, improving our expensive and underperforming health care system, and reasonable police accountability.

Trump had his chance. It is time to see what someone else can do.
