SAN JOSE — A one-alarm fire broke out Sunday afternoon outside the old city hall near the Santa Clara County administrative complex, the San Jose Fire Department said.

Reports from the nearby Main Jail came just after 3 p.m. indicating flames and smoke, San Jose Fire Capt. Cesar Martinez said. The fire started near some electrical conduits and utility cabinets just outside the old city hall at 801 N. 1st St., melting electrical equipment and burning down some fencing, he added.

About 25 firefighters responded to the scene and extinguished the fire about 30 minutes later.

There were no injuries or any damage to structures. The fire is under investigation.
