GILROY — Homicide detectives are investigating the death of a man found severely injured on a residential street Tuesday night, according to Gilroy police.

Officers were called at about 8 p.m. to Stoney Court, which runs parallel to East Sixth Street near Highway 101, for a report of a disturbance, police said. They arrived to find a man unresponsive “with multiple injuries.”

Gilroy fire personnel and paramedics tried to revive the man, but he was pronounced dead at the scene, police said.

No other details about the death, other than declaring it a homicide, were released by police Wednesday. The victim’s name was not released pending his formal identification and notification of his next of kin by the Santa Clara County Medical Examiner-Coroner’s Office.
