And, of course, Black Friday is a great opportunity to save money when starting this new hobby or just buying a gift for someone that's already into it.

Best Black Friday PlayStation deals

The PlayStation 5 is now out with the digital-only version going for $399.99 and the regular version for $499.99. Both are extremely hard to get right now as stock comes in waves and is picked up almost immediately. Of course, that means you shouldn't get your hopes up for discounts for it even on Black Friday itself. However, retailers might want to get rid of leftover PlayStation 4 stock. If that's good enough for you, you could score a hefty discount pretty soon. As for right now, there are some minor deals to be had for the previous generation.

Unfortunately, do to the high demand, PlayStation 5 is out of stock pretty much everywhere. And part of the reason for that is that some people are buying multiple units and reselling them at almost triple the original price for profit. It's a practice questionable at best but we won't dive into the morals of it right now. If you have to get a PlayStation 5 right now no matter the price, that might be your only option.

Best Black Friday Xbox deals

The Xbox Series S starts at just $299 and the more powerful Xbox Series X at $499.99. And yes, both models are sold out almost all the time. We're sure Microsoft is making them as fast as possible but stock will show up in batches and disappear quickly, so you need to be constantly on the lookout if you want to snag one.

Discounts on the current-gen Xbox consoles are pretty much nonexistent, presumably because Microsoft's confusing naming scheme lead people to mistakenly buy them in troves thinking they're the getting the new release.

Xbox Series X and Series S

Walmart has been stocking up on the new consoles once every few days. They usually announce when the stock will be available in advance, but currently there's no batch heading Walmart's way. Still, if you want to check for yourself if there are units available, click on the links below:
