MILPITAS – A domestic violence incident at a Milpitas hotel ended in a convicted felon’s arrest, police said.
The incident was reported at about 11 p.m. Friday on the 900 block of East Calaveras Boulevard. Officers arrived less than a minute later and saw a man brandishing a gun, the Milpitas Police Department said in a news release.
The man fled into the hotel and tried to discard the firearm, but he was taken into custody by officers, police said.
Officers recovered the gun, which had been reported stolen to the San Jose Police Department.
The man, identified as a 37-year-old San Jose resident, was booked into Santa Clara County jail on charges of criminal threats, resisting arrest, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon and public intoxication.
