OAKLAND — A 27-year-old man was shot Thursday night in West Oakland, authorities said, and was in stable condition Friday at a hospital.
The shooting was reported about 7:45 p.m. in the 600 block of 24th Street just west of Martin Luther King Jr. Way.
Authorities said the man was shot after he drove to the area in a Jeep Wrangler and met with some other men. A motive has not been determined yet, but police have not ruled out the possibility the shooting was drug related, authorities said.
Some possible suspects were seen driving away from the scene in an SUV but no arrests have been made.
Police and Crime Stoppers of Oakland are offering up to $5,000 in reward money for information leading to the arrests of the suspects. Anyone with information may call police at 510-238-3426 or Crime Stoppers at 510-777-8572.
