Is there still such a thing as "too much screen time" when you're stuck indoors with not much else to do? Probably. But you may as well take this time to upgrade your portals to the outside world, like your television, laptop, headphones, and smartwatches. We've rounded up a few discounts on such items this week, such as the excellent M1-wielding MacBook Pro and the Razer Kiyo webcam. Take a look.
- 13-Inch MacBook Pro With M1 for $1,239 ($60 off): After using Intel chips for most of the new millennium, Apple finally debuted its own in-house ARM chip in a MacBook. With better performance and much better battery life for the same price as the outgoing Intel-powered Pro, the M1 Mac is the way to go if you're in the market for a new MacBook. Read our Best MacBooks guide for more.
- Gigabyte Aorus 5 15.6-Inch Gaming Laptop With Core i7, RTX 2060, 16 GB for $1,099 ($400 off): With a six-core Intel Core i7 processor, a 512-GB solid-state drive, and Nvidia's GeForce RTX 2060 video card, this Newegg-exclusive is built to power through demanding games. Its screen has a 144-Hz refresh rate, but the 5-millisecond response time is merely acceptable for fast-paced games like first-person shooters.
- Canon MG3620 Wireless Inkjet Printer for $50 ($30 off): WIRED writer Matt Jancer has used this model for years. It's one of the few in this price range with wireless printing, but the compromise is that it's somewhat slow at printing. Thankfully, it's quick when scanning.
- Logitech Brio 4K Webcam for $200: OK, this is not on sale, but high-quality webcams like the Brio are very hard to find in stock these days. This model is one of our favorites in our Best Webcams guide. Even if you don't need a 4K resolution, the white balance, picture sharpness, and the ability to adjust the image to a variety of viewing angles are unparalleled.
- Razer Kiyo for $87 ($13): You can buy a separate ring light and another webcam, but this combo saves you some trouble. This is our top webcam pick in our guide, hitting a nice balance with image quality and price. You can adjust the brightness or turn off the light completely by rotating it.
- Sanus Low-Profile Fixed TV Wall Mount for $50 ($10 off): If you don't need to tilt your TV left, right, up, or down, go with a cheaper fixed mount that sits closer to the wall. WIRED writer Matt Jancer says the installation instructions with this model are crystal-clear, and the mount itself is well built. There are mounting holes and included hardware to fit practically any TV out there.
- Roku Ultra 4K for $80 ($20 off): Roku makes WIRED's favorite streaming stick. Its interface is slick and fast, and it has a dizzying number of apps and channels, including HBO Max. The Ultra is more than what most people need, so check our guide to Roku devices to find the best option for you.
- TCL 50-Inch 5-Series 4K QLED TV for $398 ($202 off): The is our favorite TV under $500 because of its Dolby Vision-compatible 4K-resolution and built-in Roku interface. Unlike its predecessor, this one has full-array local dimming for improved picture quality.
- Tenet 4K Ultra HD Blu-Ray for $20 ($10 off): There's a good chance you didn't get to catch Christopher Nolan's new movie in theaters. Now's your chance if you prefer physical media. (People are still buying Blu-rays!) Just make sure you've got a player that can handle 4K.
- Immortals Fenyx Rising for $40 ($20 off), Super Mario Maker 2 for $42 ($18 off), and Terraria for $15 ($15 off): Were you lucky enough to emerge from 2020 with a Nintendo Switch in hand? These great games are on sale.
- Sennheiser Momentum 3 Noise-Canceling Wireless Headphones for $329 ($71 off): These over-the-ear headphones have built-in Alexa and active noise cancellation. WIRED audio expert Parker Hall says they're the wireless headphones to get if you want the best sound quality (though the AirPods Max he's currently testing might beat them).
- Anker Soundcore Liberty Air X True Wireless Earbuds for $30 ($40 off): These are budget earbuds, but with active noise cancellation, a seven-hour run time, and a charging case that extends total playtime to 28 hours, they're a good option if you want to pay as little as possible.
- Fitbit Charge 4 for $119 ($31 off): The Charge 4 has a few tricks up its sleeve that you only see on more expensive competitors, such as GPS, which is why it's the best all-around fitness tracker in our guide. Unfortunately, many of its best features are locked within an $80-a-year premium subscription.
- Apple Watch Series 6 for $339 ($60 off): Apple's latest smartwatch is the best for iPhone users. The Series 6 has built-in GPS and lets you leave your iPhone in your pocket or purse as you respond to text messages and navigate from your wrist. It can also measure your electrocardiogram and blood oxygen saturation, plus you can link it to the Apple Health app to track sleep and daily exercise.
