​Prepare basic dough for bread

Ingredients required- 1 cup all-purpose flour (maida), 1 tsp dry yeast, 1 tsp sugar, 8 diced garlic cloves, 2 tbsp cornmeal, 1 cup lukewarm water, 1 tbsp olive oil, 1 tbsp butter, 1 tsp salt and 1 tbsp oregano.

Method-

  • Mix yeast, sugar and 1/2 cup water. Mix and set it aside.
  • Take a bowl, add maida, salt, garlic, oregano, olive oil and butter. Add yeast water and knead. Add more water in batches as per the requirement.
  • Knead a dough, cover it with a damp towel and refrigerator for 12 hours. Make a smooth ball, dust with cornmeal and roll out into a circular disc.

Cheese Stuffed Garlic Bread

Grate some cheese cubes on half side on the disc, along with a chunk of mozzarella cheese. You can also add grated cheddar cheese and cheese cubes to add different flavours of cheese to the dish. Sprinkle 4-6 diced garlic cloves on the cheese, 1 tsp oregano and 1 tsp chilli flakes. Also add some jalapeno pieces to give the perfect restaurant like taste. Bring the other half of the disc to this side, close the edges and make 4-5 gentle cuts on top of the prepared dish. Grease a baking tray with butter, place it in the oven and bake at 240°C for 20-25 minutes. You can also garnish with some cheese on top.

Heat 1 tsp oil in a pan, add 2 tbsp diced onion, 2 tbsp tomato, 2 tbsp capsicum, 2 tbsp bell peppers and 2 tbsp cabbage. Lightly saute the veggies for at least 2 minutes. Add some salt, pepper and oregano from top. Take from the flame and add 3 grated cubes in the mixture. Spread this veggie mixture on half of the flattened dough, add some extra cheese from top, if required. Close it by bringing the other side over and securing the edges. Bake in the oven at 240°C for 20-25 minutes. Cut into long pieces and enjoy the scrumptious veggie garlic bread.

​Classic Corn Stuffed Garlic Bread

Spread a tablespoon of mayonnaise on half of the rolled out dough, sprinkle 2-3 tablespoons of corn, 2 tablespoon diced jalapeno and some cheddar cheese. Now fold the other side, make a semi-circle and seal the edges.

Place on a baking tray, apply some butter, dust with more cornmeal and cut 4-5 slits on top. Bake in the oven at 240°C for 20-25 minutes.
