Hockey East Moves to Week-to-Week Schedule

In a fitting sign of just how well things are going, Hockey East, after weeks of multiple cancellations, postponements, and schedule adjustments, finally said screw it and announced they were throwing out their initial composite league schedule on both the men’s and women’s side, and would instead be scheduling games on a week-to-week basis for the remainder of the regular season.

The goal at this point, is to try and get as many games in as possible, rather than worrying about any semblance of a balanced schedule. On the men’s side, Boston University and UMass Lowell have played just four games, while on the women’s side, BU is again low with just three games played. Teams need 13 games played to be considered for the NCAA Tournament, though at this point, two months before Selection Sunday, it’s unclear how those eligible teams will be selected.

New Hampshire at Merrimack (Women) - 2:00 p.m.

Providence at Massachusetts (Men) – 3:00 p.m.

Maine at Boston University (Men) – 3:30 p.m. (NESN)

Providence at Northeastern (Women) – 4:30 p.m. (NESN+)
