Officers discovered the party while initially responding to a report of loud music.

When investigating further, officers said they discovered an “‘illegal night club,” which had a waitress and full bar.

About 100 people were reportedly at the address, and the Lawrence Board of Health is investigating all possible COVID-19 violations.

As of Thursday evening, the city’s Board of Health had reported 16,237 confirmed positive COVID-19 cases, and 209 COVID-19 deaths.

The Lawrence Fire Department also responded to the scene, where outdoor propane heaters and charcoal hookahs had been set up and used inside the building.

Police said the incident remains under investigation by investigators, firefighters, and the Lawrence Inspection Services Department.
