How to Increase Your House Storage Space
House Storage is the most persistent and long-lasting facet of Animal Crossing: New Horizons, as it initiates right from the beginning of the game. It involves talking to Tom Nook and asking to upgrade your home. Upgrading your home will not only increase the number of Storage Slots your home will have, but it will make the interior larger as well!
To upgrade your home's storage, all you have to do is talk to Tom at the Construction Consultation Counter inside Resident Services. Pick "About my house...", then you can ask "Expand my Storage".
Expanding your Storage will always cost a lot of Bells, and if you want to gather a collection of furniture, resources, tools and other items to use, you should always be striving to upgrade your home.
Post-Launch Update Storage Expansions
With the first seven upgrades to your home, you'll be making your house bigger by adding more rooms to the inside of it along the way. However, once you've paid off your final loan of 2,498,000 Bells, you'll be able to expand the total storage capacity by an additional four times.
Luckily, these aren't initially as expensive as the room expansion upgrades from the base game. The only thing you need to do beforehand is pay off your final loan, as described above.
There are four upgrades to make here. The first one was added in the Winter Update, while the final three were added in Update 2.0. They start at 500,000 Bells and increase in price by 200,000 Bells each (except for the last one, which is 300,000 Bells more expensive than the one before it).
