Even before the arrival of what’s forecast to be a major storm, Pacific Gas & Electric was reporting a cluster of power outages in the Santa Cruz Mountains.
The most widespread outage Monday morning extended from Saratoga Gap into the hills above Cupertino. PG&E said it was “assessing the cause” and expected power to be restored by 10:30 a.m.
Communities in the Sierra foothills west of Yosemite National Park were under a planned power shutdown that was expected to be lifted Monday afternoon.
