SAN JOSE – Two men were injured in a shooting near downtown San Jose on Thursday night, authorities said.

The shooting was reported about 7:40 p.m. in the 200 block of North 9th Street, the San Jose Police Department said in a tweet.

Police said the victims’ injuries were not considered life-threatening.

North 9th Street was closed between East Julian and East St. James streets for an investigation.

The injury shooting followed one at 11:20 a.m. on the 800 block of Deland Avenue. Police initially said a man suffered life-threatening injuries but later said his injuries were not life-threatening.

The city has recorded at least seven shootings since Feb. 19, resulting in the deaths of two people.
