PINOLE — A 31-year-old man was in county jail after his arrest as a suspect in a shooting that damaged a vehicle, authorities said Thursday.

Just before 2:45 a.m., police responded to a report of multiple gunshots fired in the 800 block of Patrick Drive. When officers arrived, they found a vehicle whose body and windows were struck by bullets. There were no injuries reported, police said.

Later in the morning, investigators were able to identify a suspect and learn of at least two similar early-hours shooting episodes. Officers met the suspect at his Pinole residence and took him into custody without incident.

He was booked into the county jail in Martinez on suspicion of several weapons-related felonies, including firing into a vehicle and being a felon in possession of a firearm, police said. His bail was set at $250,000.

Anyone with information about the shooting may call Pinole police’s criminal investigations division at 510-741-2077.
