Last fall, Dior debuted a new initiative, Dior Stands With Women, that featured a long list of famous faces doing just that — standing up and speaking out to showcase the impact women can have on the world as a way to inspire others. It only makes sense that the house would return with a second installment, dropped today to coincide with International Women’s Day.
The latest offering — searchable via hashtags #DiorStandsWithWomen and #DiorChinUp — features a series of portraits and videos with Charlize Theron, Natalie Portman, Yara Shahidi, actress and singer Li Bingbing, model Dilone, figure skater Kim Yuna, architect and designer and India Mahdavi and journalist and novelist Leïla Slimani. “There isn’t one grand identity of what it means to be a woman,” Shahidi says in a clip. “But it takes shape differently for each and every individual.”
Also as part of the latest installment, Dior continues its support of longtime muse Theron’s foundation. In doing so, Dior will finance the university studies of young people selected for Charlize Theron’s Africa Outreach Project Youth Leaders Scholarship Program in partnership with UCLA Center for World Health and StudyTrust. The program’s goal is to provide higher education support for future leaders. Full scholarships will cover four years of full tuition, accommodations, food, books, computers, travel expenses, one-on-one tutoring and a leadership training course.
Theron interviews two of the students in one of the clips released today, which is seen below.
