SAVE $35: Amazon has the first-gen Echo Show 5 on sale for its Black Friday price of just $44.99 as of Aug. 2. That's a 44% savings on its normal price of $79.99.

It's not quite Target's left-field Echo Dot offer, but this is a strangely good deal on an Amazon device — especially because it's neither Prime Day nor Black Friday.

As of Aug. 2, you could head on over to Amazon to snag a first-gen Echo Show 5 smart display on sale for just $44.99. That's 44% off its suggested retail price of $79.99 and an exact match of its all-time-high Black Friday 2020 discount. (Random? Very! But no complaints here.)

FWIW, you're not missing out on much by buying the original Echo Show 5 from 2019 instead of the latest model that came out in June: Aside from the newer one's upgraded camera, additional Deep Sea Blue colorway, and missing audio jack, their design and hardware are virtually identical. There's a 5.5-inch touchscreen, a 1.7-inch speaker, and a built-in Alexa smart assistant that can control compatible devices, pull up the weather forecast, play music, and much more. (Those new Olympics updates are pretty nifty, too.)

Also worth noting: The 2021 version hasn't yet dipped below $84.99.

If you don't plan on making tons of video calls, you can easily get away with the older, cheaper model. Hit the link below to order it while it's still just $45.
