Bocce is back in Livermore, thanks to a popular Bay Area restaurant group, and with it comes ax throwing, cornhole — and a meaty menu of pub fare.

The owners of Sauced BBQ and Plucked Chicken took over the closed Campo di Bocce on Vineyard Avenue, gave it a new look and a cheeky new name and have just reopened it as Da Boccery.

You can dine on Braised Short Rib or Chicken Chipotle Pasta before a shuffleboard game. Or throw a few axes and then chow down on the popular Wagyu Beef Sliders and Smoked Wings. Or go all Italian with bocce and the Fragrant Fowl pesto-and-chicken pizza. There are meal-size salads too, including the Peloton, with arugula, beets, farro and more, and the Medusa, with house-smoked turkey.

Da Boccery also boasts a full bar lineup of craft cocktails, wine and beer.

Besides bocce, ax throwing, shuffle board and cornhole, there’s footpool, the game in which soccer is played atop a pool table.

Whatever your game, just make sure to go online to make reservations for both dining and activities so that you can sync up your court time with your meal.

Da Boccery is the latest from cousins Barrett Gomes and Brenden Scanlan, who have been on a roll since launching their first Sauced BBQ & Spirits smokehouse in Livermore, in 2012, using recipes Brenden developed after growing up in the South. They now operate four in Northern California and one in Southern California.

Their second concept, Plucked Chicken & Beer, has expanded to three East Bay locations. Also, there’s a new ghost-kitchen concept: Customers in San Jose, Walnut Creek and Sacramento may order some Plucked menu items via DoorDash from their local Sauced location.

Details: Da Boccery is open daily, 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. Sunday-Thursday and 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. Friday-Saturday at 175 E. Vineyard Ave., Livermore; www.daboccery.com
