The big diplomatic event today occurred on the margins of the UN General Assembly in a COVID summit convened by the White House. Dozens of world leaders, members of civil society and the private sector participated in this virtual event.  Significantly, the Summit endorsed target for a 70% vaccination rate among people of all countries by the time the UN General Assembly convenes next year. Kate Dodson, Vice President for Global Health at the United Nations Foundation, explains the key outcomes and overall significance of this White House meeting to the global effort to end the COVID-19 pandemic.
