OAKLAND — A 28-year-old man was fatally shot in West Oakland Wednesday night, authorities said.

His name has not yet been released.

The man was shot about 7:15 p.m. Wednesday in the 2400 block of Adeline Street, apparently while he was walking to a store.

He was taken to a hospital where he later died.
